Change My PIN

As you are either using Internet Banking for the first time, or have just had your PIN reset by our Staff you will need to select a new PIN.

Your new PIN should be exactly 8 characters long and contain at least one Alphabetic character (A to Z. Alphabetic characters are not case-sensitive) and at least one Numeric character (0 to 9). No other special characters are allowed. Please note that this new 8 character PIN can only be used to access your accounts via the Internet.

You should immediately be suspicious of any phone call, e-mail or correspondence which asks you to disclose your banking details. Rural Bank or its staff should never, for example, ask you for your PIN (although in some circumstances we might ask you to verify your Access ID).

You should protect the security of your PIN and Access ID at all times. Allowing somebody to know these details is the same as giving them a signed blank cheque. If you believe your details may have become known to another person, you should log on to our Internet Banking site immediately and change your PIN.

When you select your new PIN, it is very important that you do NOT select numbers that represent your date of birth or letters that represent part of your name because those PINs are easily guessed by thieves. If you do select a PIN that represents your date of birth or part of your name, then you may be liable for the amount of all unauthorised transactions made using those PINs. Further details of your liability is contained in the Banking Accounts Terms and Conditions (Terms). You should consider the Terms when deciding whether to acquire, or continue to hold, a Rural Bank account or facility.
