Changing Text Size

It is possible to change the text size in recent versions of both Internet Explorer and Netscape Browsers. This will enable you to enlarge the text to a size that is easier to read.

Internet Explorer:

  • After activating your browser select the Tools menu from the Browser Tool bar
  • From the Drop down list select Internet Options. This will cause another menu to appear
  • At the bottom of the General tab select the button labelled Accessibility
  • Under the Formatting option tick the box that is labelled - 'Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages'

Once you have checked this box you have two methods of enlarging the text to the required size.

  1. Select the View menu from the Browser Tool bar and then select the Text Size option. The default will be Medium. Select the Font Size required.
  2. If you have a 'wheel' mouse you can also hold down the Ctrl key and use your wheel to enlarge or reduce the text size.

Netscape:

After activating your Netscape browser, you can change the text size using your keyboard. To increase the text size, hold down the Ctrl key, then prss the + key. To decrease the text size, hold down the Ctrl key, then press the - key. Alternatively, you can also change the text size via the View menu from the Browser Tool bar. From the View menu, select the Text Size option. This will cause another menu to appear, where you can select your text size.
